Contents Cover Explained
Contents Cover Explained

A brief introduction to our available contents cover options.

Updated over a week ago

We offer both instructors and clubs the option of contents insurance. This is by standard up to the amount of £5,000 but we can extend this on request for an additional premium.

There’s nothing concrete from the insurer in terms of what they require in the event of a contents claim so we’ve tried to put together a few pointers to help support clubs in ensuring contents claims are paid;

  • Asset Register and Purchase Receipts – You’ll absolutely need to have a full register of items or equipment you hope to have insured. You’ll also need receipts to demonstrate ownership, and the value of items.

  • Locks & Prevention – You’ll need to ensure any insured equipment is exclusively accessible by you only and not in any shared space or communal locked room. You must ensure equipment is always under ‘lock and key’ and properly secure.

  • Overnight & Cars – Equipment is covered whilst it’s in your car or van etc, but not overnight so please ensure you don’t leave expensive equipment in your vehicle overnight.

  • Type & Use – The insurer is expecting to cover ‘martial-artsy’ equipment. If the items you’re insuring are worth more than £1,000 each, or aren’t standard equipment (think what could be found on standard supplier websites like Blitz, Bytomic etc) then you may have a problem. Clear this with us first.

If you have any specific questions or queries regarding contents cover, please do speak with the team. If you would like to activate cover mid-term, please drop us a line. Otherwise, you can opt-in for contents cover at renewal.
