Dojo-Build by BMABA

A guide to our very own drag and drop site builder.

Updated over a week ago

Prior to our purchase of the MartialHost group in July 2023, Dojo-Build was known as MartialClub.

Dojo-Build is now a legacy service.
We’ll maintain the service for as long as possible – and this could be as good as forever, but as technology changes so rapidly in websites and hosting, there may come a point in time where this software isn’t practical any longer. Please read on below for more information.

Using Dojo-Build By BMABA

Dojo-Build by BMABA is a super easy to use ‘drag and drop’ website builder. It allows anyone – even somebody with zero prior web design knowledge – the opportunity to create a modern, responsive, professional club website in literally minutes. We provide lots of free templates, and you can use one of our premium subdomains free of charge too.

Publishing Your Website

When you’re first ready to publish your website, you’ll need to drop one of our team a line on web chat (or by email, but it is slower) to request your licence activation. We’ll then hook up your website to your domain name and we’ll ensure it’s showing up properly on the internet, too. There’s zero charge.

Once your licence is activated you can make changes as needed and can update changes in real-time 24/7 without needing any further intervention from us.

Linking Up Your Own Domain Name

If you have your own domain name, please let us know before we activate your website licence. Once we point this to your domain, you'll just need to tweak your DNS records in the hosting control panel to make sure your domain knows where to point.

Please ensure your A RECORDS point to;

34.96.116.138

Remember, depending on your host's DNS settings, you may also need to enter the www. version of your site too.

For example, yourclub.com would need to point to the A Record 34.96.116.138. You may also need to specify the 'www.' to 34.96.116.138 as well.

Ensuring Your Site Is Secured (HTTPS)

If some elements of your website come from unsecured sources - whether that be as simple as an icon for Facebook coming from an external resource, or you linking back to content elsewhere that isn't fully secured, many browsers will show an 'insecure' warning. This can be damaging for the trust of the person viewing your site.

You can very quickly and easily remedy this by entering the below code in the 'header' section of your website, and then publishing. This just forces the site to pull in from the secure https protocol. We provide a free SSL certificate for all sites on this platform.

<script language=”JavaScript”> if(window.location.protocol != ‘https:’) { location.href = location.href.replace(“http://”, “https://”); } </script>

Legacy Service Warning

Website technology changes are break-neck speed. We’re starting to find the ability for clubs to run amazing, state of the art websites with no design knowledge on a platform called WordPress, which integrates with our free club management software, is rapidly overtaking the likes of this drag and drop builder.

We know lots of clubs don’t want a bigger website and like the drag and drop Dojo service for it’s easy to use, no-skill required interface. That’s absolutely fine.

We don’t plan on discontinuing this service and will continue hosting sites for as long as possible. That could well be the next ten, twenty or more years. There is, however, a small change the software agency we work with to provide this service could in theory discontinue the software in the future. This would only be if there was to be some major change in the way websites are built. There’s nothing immediate that causes concern, but it is something we’d like you to bear in the back of your mind. We’ll obviously let everyone know in good time if there’s a plan to mothball this service. In the interim, we’ll continue to support it for as long as we can. We would expect that to be long into the future.
