BMABA CIC is a UK VAT-registered organisation under registration number 373018216. As such, VAT is accounted for in all pricing where applicable, and all public pricing shown across our platforms and systems is inclusive of VAT by default.
VAT Inclusive Pricing
Because the vast majority of our members and clients are not VAT registered, our system is designed to show the total price (including VAT where applicable) at the point of purchase. This helps simplify billing for instructors, clubs, and organisations that do not need to reclaim VAT.
While the standard system-generated receipts do not separate VAT from exempt elements by default, this does not affect the validity or compliance of the VAT treatment. VAT is calculated and accounted for internally in line with HMRC rules.
Insurance and VAT Exemption
In accordance with HMRC guidance, Group Cover Insurance Provisions—including core instructor and student insurance policies—are classified as wholly VAT exempt. This means no VAT is charged on the insurance component of any package or policy provided through BMABA CIC.
However, membership fees, non-insurance services, and any part of a transaction not directly and wholly attributable to insurance (such as digital tools, support services, platform access, etc.) will attract VAT at the standard rate (currently 20%).
In situations where a service or product includes both VAT-exempt insurance and VATable membership or tools, VAT will only be charged on the relevant (non-insurance) component.
Requesting a VAT Receipt
If you require a formal breakdown of VAT for accounting, auditing, or reporting purposes—particularly in cases where insurance and non-insurance items are bundled together—please contact our team.
We will be happy to provide you with a formal VAT receipt that clearly identifies:
The total amount paid
The portion of the amount that is VAT exempt
The portion subject to VAT
The VAT amount included (where applicable)
